Shawn Bowers
I'm a writer, producer and improviser in the Chicago area. Hailing from fellow Midwest hotspot Kansas City, I've been performing about town for the last year...previously with the now defunct Able Bodied Chaperones and currently with the two-man sketch and improv group Scuba Mission. I'm currently studying at iO and the Second City Conservatory and the SCHOOL OF LIFE, which isn't a real place, but I'm learning a lot.
Coming up in October, I'm producing and directing a new sketch revue opening at Donny's Skybox called Seeking Your Approval, which will be awesome. Fourteen new performers and writers, changing the show every week to suit your needs. More info as we get closer.
Coming up in December is the world premiere of my new original play, Time Traveling Mom-Dad, at the Gorilla Tango Theatre. It's a time traveling, gender bending, melodramatic, erotic adventure about the absolute worst way to deal with the death of a friend. More info on that one too.
RIGHT NOW: Be sure to check out Scuba Mission's first original sketch show, Timeless Is More, currently running Friday nights at 10 pm at the Gorilla Tango Theatre. People have been laughing and we think you will too. And even if you can't come, buy a ticket anyway to support independent theatre!
